Kelmarsh Hall

Kelmarsh Hall

Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens is a popular wedding venue within Northamptonshire located between Northampton and Market Harborough. I recently visited the venue for the wedding of Georgina & James where I was booked to look after their Springer Spaniel Zeb.

Kelmarsh Hall History

Kelmarsh Hall is a Grade I listed country house dating back to 1732. The Gardens are Grade II listed. It was built for the Hanbury family but today the whole thing is managed by an independent charitable trust called The Kelmarsh Trust. In order to help finance the trust Kelmarsh Events Ltd was started in 2004. Income is raised from booking the venue, whether that be for weddings, corporate events, private parties or as a filming and photography location.

They run a number of events throughout the year, everything from Yoga and Pottery classes, corporate team building activities right up to large music festivals. Their website for instance states that they have parking for up to 14,000 cars in the grounds!

Kelmarsh Hall Weddings

As a wedding venue Kelmarsh Hall has quite a lot to offer to any couple. With a capacity for up to 100 guests at a wedding breakfast which can increase to 150 for the evening reception. They can also cater to smaller wedding parties, their Orangery for instance is suitable for just 40 guests.

The interior rooms are pretty special as you would expect from a stateley home but the gardens will also appeal to couples. Not only was the grass beautifully maintained but it the varied plants, flowers and trees offer plenty of colour in every season (with the possible exception of a British winter). Indeed I’d imagine any wedding photographer will enjoy both the indoor and outdoor options that Kelmarsh Hall has to offer for posing the bride and groom.

When it comes to food and drink Kelmarsh Hall uses Portfolio Events Catering as their main caterers. There are no bedrooms at Kelmarsh Hall that can be used for the bridal party but they do offer a suite at a local accommodation venue which is included in the hire cost of the Hall. They also work with a number of local hotels and can offer discounted rates for wedding guests. The final bonus about Kelmarsh Hall is that according to some couples I have spoken to it was actually cheaper than some other local dog friendly wedding venues which I was surprised to learn.

Being that Kelmarsh Hall is quite local to me and is dog friendly I expect it will not be too long before I will get the chance to return. If you would like to know more about Kelmarsh Hall you can visit their website, link below:
