The Granary At Fawsley
Charlotte from The Granary At Fawsley recently kindly agreed to my request to come and visit their dog friendly wedding venue. Since I was visiting on a day when no wedding was taking place my photos don’t give the full picture of what couples can expect. I would suggest visiting their website to get a better idea of how the venue looks on a typical wedding day.
The Granary at Fawsley – Wedding Venue
The Granary At Fawsley is another Northamptonshire dog friendly wedding venue. Couples who live in the county who would like their dog to attend their big day do have a number of very good options to choose from. The village of Fawsley is located to the south of Daventry. The Granary is located on the same lane as another dog friendly wedding venue that I’ve previously attended, namely Fawsley Hall.
The Granary At Fawsley has packages to suit all budgets and needs, starting from their ‘Just Get Married’ package which gives exclusive use of the Grain Store between 10am and 3pm. The ceromony can also take place on The Lawn in good weather. If extras are needed like food and drink or overnight accommdation these can be bolted on to the ‘Just Get Married’ package.
Other packages offered are listed as Classic, Romantic and Ultimate where more is included with each package in terms of food and drink and in the case of the Ultimate package all 10 bedrooms for 2 nights. Their website breaks down what each package offers and the team at The Granary At Fawsley can answer any questions you might have.
Looking at the very positive reviews for The Granary At Fawsley I noted that people mentioned the helpful staff and the peace and quiet this venue offers. In my short visit I can certainly agree with both points.
Catering at The Granary is handled by their In-house Chef with a good selection of choices. In terms of the wedding ceremony itself, there are 3 main options, depending on the season and capacity required.
The Grain Store
Perfect for smaller weddings, this oak beamed room has a capacity for up to 70 guests and can be transformed for a wedding breakfast for up to 45 guests. The image below gives a good indication of the room size but their website has more images that show what this room can look like.
The Barn
The Barn is a larger space with a capacity for up to 200 guests. Lined with lovely white fabrics this room has a lovely light and airy feeling. At one end there is the dance floor and room in a corner for the DJ. There is also a licensed bar in The Barn stocked with a good choice of beers, wines and spirits. The image at the top of this article was taken in The Barn which gives a fair idication of the size of this room. The image below is of an ice cream tricycle which was located in The Barn on the day of my visit.
The Lawn
The final option for the wedding ceremony is The Lawn which is in the courtyard. The wooden gazebo is where the vows would take place, in front of up to 150 seated guests. After the ceremony drinks can be served from their horsebox bar. Naturally this outdoor option is better suited to warmer months. I did not take any images of The Lawn because it was October during my visit and without the chairs and any decoration it does not show what this area can look like on a wedding day. Again their website is worth a visit to see images of The Lawn during a wedding.
The Granary At Fawsley – Wedding Accommodation
As mentioned earlier, another plus point for the The Granary at Fawsley is that they have a number of bedrooms at the location for the wedding couple and guests. A total of 10 bedrooms, one of which is the bridal suite but two others being dog friendly. The two dog friendly bedrooms are located next to each other, one being a double and the other a triple. Both are ensuite.
Summary
The Granary At Fawsley is worth visiting for those couples looking for a Northamptonshire wedding venue. Being able to offer something at all budgets and options to cater from small wedding parties all the way up to 200 guests means they are able to meet the needs of most couples. The fact it is also a dog friendly venue means it’s likely to be on the shortlist of many who would like their dog to attend their wedding.
The Granary can also be hired for corporate events or private parties but I imagine this is a smaller part of their business compared to weddings. Hopefully I will get the chance to visit The Granary again in 2025, when working as a dog chaperone.
