The Sessions House Spalding

The Sessions House

I recently had the good fortune to visit another Lincolnshire dog friendly wedding venue, namely The Sessions House. Most of the wedding venues I’ve visited have been located in fairly remote locations. Most are either converted barns on former farmland or grand stately homes located in the countryside. The Sessions House is certainly grand looking. built in 1843 and a former courthouse. However unlike many wedding venues it’s located in the heart of town, namely the pretty market town of Spalding.

The Sessions House is able to cater to both small and large weddings. There are a number of spaces that are each decorated differently which will provide lots of great photography opportunities. The Emerald Room is popular for small intimate weddings of up to 30 people. it can also be used for small receptions. The high ceilings, large windows and huge fireplace really grab your attention.

The Courtroom is perfect for a ceremony anywhere from 20 up to 160 guests. It’s very obvious from the long wooden bench and some of the other seating areas that this was a former courtroom. The Courtroom is also used for the wedding breakfast and evening party. It really is a versatile space, whether it contains chairs, dining tables or is clear and used as a dance floor.

In good weather ceremonies can also take place outside if preferred. The courtyard is a good size and the pagoda and Victorian Police station backdrop will add a sense of occasion to your outdoor photographs.

All of the rooms within The Sessions House have a grand sense of occasion but each is decorated very differently. Your wedding photographer may well decide that they want to capture images of the lucky couple in all of the rooms, since each has various interesting features and colour schemes. To illustrate the variety here are two more images, one of the bar area and the other a room known as The Magistrates Room.

The Sessions House does not contain any overnight accommodation for the couple or guests. They do have relationships with a number of local accommodation providers though and would be happy to suggest some options that might suit. They are a very dog friendly wedding venue, whether you only want your dog to attend for the post ceremony photos or whether you want them at the venue for most of the day, including being part of the ceremony.

Whilst weddings is the main focus of their business, The Sessions House does open for certain other events as well, including afternoon tea and Christmas parties.

The Sessions House Reviews

In looking at some of the reviews for The Sessions House it’s clear that the new owners Erika and Andrew have worked hard since taking over a couple of years ago. I was struck that the reviews seem to mention the same positive points which included the impressive looking venue and decor, the quality of the catering and how professional all the staff were. If you are looking for a dog friendly wedding venue that’s located in Lincolnshire then it would be worth paying The Sessions House a visit to see if it meets your particular needs.
